Explore our industrial-grade advanced technical ceramics manufactured under strict ISO9001/IATF16949 standards, engineered for extreme thermal environments, mechanical resistance, and optical purity.
In modern electronic packaging, high-power RF systems, and semiconductor fabrication equipment, heat dissipation presents the single greatest bottleneck to system reliability and power density. Aluminum Nitride (AlN) ceramics represent a critical breakthrough in technical ceramics, combining extraordinary thermal conductivity ($170 - 230 \text{ W/m}\cdot\text{K}$) with high electrical resistivity ($>10^{14} \ \Omega\cdot\text{cm}$) and a coefficient of thermal expansion ($4.5 \times 10^{-6}/\text{K}$) closely matched to Silicon (Si) and Gallium Nitride (GaN).
As premier China machining Aluminum Nitride suppliers and factories, our facilities integrate sub-micron powder synthesis, cold isostatic pressing (CIP), high-temperature nitrogen atmosphere sintering, and 5-axis ultra-precision diamond grinding to produce custom components engineered to sub-micron dimensional tolerances.

Machining Aluminum Nitride presents unique engineering challenges. Unlike soft metals, fully sintered AlN exhibits a high Vickers hardness (~11-12 GPa) and extreme brittleness. Achieving complex geometries, deep micro-holes, thin-wall structures, and optical surface finishes requires a multi-stage machining workflow.
Prior to high-temperature pressureless or hot-isostatic sintering (1750°C–1850°C), AlN compacts are processed in a green state using specialized carbide tooling. This permits rapid stock removal, complex internal channels, and threaded features while accounting for isotropic volumetric shrinkage (~18–22%) during firing.
For fully dense sintered AlN, high-speed 5-axis CNC grinding centers equipped with resin-bonded and electroplated diamond tools operate under high-pressure flood coolant. Ultra-fine micro-grinding eliminates subsurface micro-cracking and maintains structural integrity.
Utilizing picosecond and femtosecond UV laser ablation, we perform precision via-hole drilling (down to 50 µm diameter), edge scribing, and micro-grooving on thin AlN substrates ($0.25\text{mm} - 1.0\text{mm}$) without thermal damage or heat-affected zones (HAZ).

Precision-machined Aluminum Nitride components serve as foundational building blocks across critical advanced tech infrastructure globally:
In Etch and CVD tools, AlN heater pedestals and Electrostatic Chucks (ESC) withstand fluorine/chlorine plasma exposure while maintaining temperature uniformity ($\pm 0.5^\circ\text{C}$) across 300mm silicon wafers at temperatures reaching 600°C.
Next-gen 800V SiC traction inverters rely on Direct Bonded Copper (DBC) and Active Metal Brazing (AMB) AlN substrates. High thermal spreading reduces junction temperatures, enabling faster switching speeds and extended battery range.
High-frequency GaN-on-SiC RF transistors generate massive heat fluxes ($>1000\text{ W/cm}^2$). Custom CNC machined AlN heat sinks and package covers prevent thermal runaway without introducing parasitic capacitance.
The relentless miniaturization of microelectronics demands continuous innovation in substrate engineering and ceramic micro-machining. Yixing Qiangguang Ceramic Materials Co., Ltd. is investing heavily in next-generation processing technologies to maintain leadership in high-thermal management.
Development of chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP) techniques to deliver ultra-thin, low-bowing AlN wafers with nanometer-scale surface roughness for high-density 2.5D/3D IC packaging.
Implementation of stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing for AlN ceramics, enabling complex internal conformal cooling channels that are impossible via conventional CNC diamond milling.
Reducing lattice oxygen impurities below 0.4 wt% using advanced carbothermal reduction, elevating mass-production thermal conductivity toward the theoretical limit of 320 W/m·K.
Comprehensive engineering insights for procurement directors and ceramic design engineers.
Aluminum Nitride offers nearly 7 to 8 times the thermal conductivity of Alumina (170-230 W/m·K vs 24-30 W/m·K). Additionally, AlN's coefficient of thermal expansion closely matches Silicon and GaN chips, minimizing thermal stress, solder fatigue, and die cracking during severe temperature cycling.
Through high-precision diamond grinding, lapping, and CMP polishing, we routinely achieve dimensional tolerances within ±0.001 mm (1 µm), flatness < 0.002 mm, and surface roughness Ra as smooth as 0.02 µm.
AlN forms a protective passive aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) surface layer in air starting around 700°C, providing stability up to 1300°C. In inert atmospheres (N₂ or Ar), AlN remains stable up to 2000°C. Water hydrolysis can occur at elevated temperatures in aqueous environments unless surface passivation coatings are applied.
By operating a fully integrated industrial supply chain in Yixing—from high-purity powder synthesis to in-house CNC machining and diamond grinding—Qiangguang eliminates intermediary markups, reduces lead times, and offers scalable production cost advantages of 30% to 50% compared to Western suppliers.
